Company History

Our business began as a hobby in Mississauga, Ontario in 1998.  At that time our focus was strictly on hand made crafts.  The business was registered in 2000.  While maintaining the craft side of the business, we made a transition into design and manufacturing of wooden furniture.  In 2002 we relocated our business to Bancroft, Ontario where we found no market for the craft business.  We found the market for hand made furniture and woodcrafts was significant.  We continue to operate a store from our home in Bancroft while participating in tradeshows throughout central Ontario.

 Challenges

Our biggest challenge is shipping.  Given that our business is a 2 person operation, we do not have the time to deliver ourselves.  We have talked to the Canada Post and the large courier companies.  For them to ship our product, it would have to be crated.  In that case we would need a shipping person which would make our prices cost prohibitive.  We recently found a local delivery company to carry our product for 40 cents per kilometer round trip (as at Aug 27, 2008).  With climbing gas prices, delivery is very expensive.
